How exercise physiology can help

Support matched to your condition, goals and confidence

Exercise physiology is not just a workout. It is structured, supervised exercise planned around what your body needs and what you want to be able to do.

Injury

Injury rehabilitation and return to activity

Build strength, movement confidence and capacity after injury, surgery or time away from activity where exercise is clinically appropriate.

Health

Chronic condition support

Exercise programs can support people managing conditions such as diabetes, heart health, arthritis, osteoporosis, respiratory conditions and persistent pain.

Support

Disability and funded pathways

We support NDIS participants, eligible DVA clients, older adults and people with referral or claim pathways where suitable and approved.

Strength

Strength, mobility and confidence

Work toward better everyday function, safer movement, gym confidence, walking tolerance, balance, independence or return to the activities that matter.

What is an Exercise Physiologist?

University-qualified allied health professionals who prescribe exercise

Accredited Exercise Physiologists use exercise as a clinical tool. Your program is based on your health history, current capacity, goals, risk factors and how your body responds over time.

That means sessions may include assessment, education, strength work, mobility, balance, conditioning, gym-based exercise, home exercise and progress review.

This may suit you if you want help with:

  • Starting safely when pain, injury, health conditions or confidence make exercise feel uncertain.
  • Building capacity for work, sport, family life, daily tasks or community activity.
  • Progressing with structure instead of guessing what to do in the gym or at home.

What happens first

A calm pathway from first contact to your exercise plan

Your first appointment is about understanding you: your goals, health history, current movement, confidence, symptoms, supports and what you want to work toward.

Conditions and goals

Common reasons people see an Exercise Physiologist

The right program depends on your individual presentation, medical guidance and goals. These are common areas where exercise physiology may be useful.

Support for osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, joint replacement, back pain, injury rehab and strength rebuilding.

Neurological and movement conditions

Exercise physiology for Parkinson’s and neurological conditions

EHF provides individual Exercise Physiology support for people with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis and other neurological or movement conditions at Batemans Bay, Moruya and Ulladulla. Exercise is planned around the person—not just the diagnosis—and may work toward strength, balance, walking capacity, mobility, conditioning, confidence and everyday function.

Your Exercise Physiologist starts with your goals, symptoms, current capacity, safety considerations and relevant guidance from your medical or allied health team. Exercise physiology can form one part of neurological care; it does not replace medical treatment, medication review or advice from your treating clinicians.
