Ways to work with EHF
Exercise physiology support can look different depending on mobility, confidence, transport, health needs, funding pathway and availability. We will help choose a practical starting point.
Supportive group exercise options for older adults who benefit from routine, coaching, social connection and safe progression.
Individual appointments for assessment, goal setting, strength, balance, mobility, health-condition support and progress review.
Home visit options may be available where suitable, clinically appropriate and operationally possible. Call first so we can check what is realistic.
Who this page is for
The goal is simple: make it easier to understand what EHF offers, what information is useful, and how to take the next step without getting lost in aged-care wording.
Support that is matched to your goals, current capacity, preferences and day-to-day life.
Helpful direction on what happens first and how to talk through appointments, transport and home support needs.
A practical local exercise physiology option for clients who may benefit from strength, balance, mobility and reablement support.
Clear communication and goal-based exercise support where clinically appropriate and with consent.
How exercise physiology can help
Exercise physiology is not just about fitness. For older adults, it can help build the physical capacity and confidence needed for daily tasks, community activity and safer routines.
Build capacity for standing, walking, stairs, carrying groceries and getting in and out of chairs.
Practise strength, balance and confidence strategies that may help reduce falls risk when matched to the person.
Work on walking tolerance, transfers, movement confidence and getting around the home or community.
Plan exercise around health conditions, pain, fatigue, recent illness, surgery or changes in capacity.
What happens first
Your first step is about understanding goals, health needs, available support, transport, home environment and what the person wants to work toward.
My Aged Care and Support at Home
My Aged Care is the main entry point for aged-care assessment and service access. Support at Home is now part of the current in-home aged-care language, while CHSP continues during its transition period.
Exercise physiology access depends on assessment, eligibility, the person’s support plan, provider arrangements and service availability. EHF cannot approve funding, but we can help you understand what information is useful before starting.
My Aged Care lists exercise physiology under allied health and therapy, with access depending on assessment and program eligibility.
Support at Home services are designed to align with assessed needs and support independence through a wellness and reablement approach.
Before booking, it helps to know the approved supports, provider details, care manager contact and whether a home visit is being requested.
Home visit options
Some people need support at home first because transport, mobility, fatigue, confidence or recovery makes clinic attendance difficult. Home visit options are considered case by case and depend on clinical suitability, location, staff availability and the support pathway.

Appointments are available through our local clinics, with home visit options discussed where suitable and available.
